We met William through a friend of a friend and immediately hit it off and of COURSE wanted to share him with everyone we know! Introducing, William Panzarella!
1.) Tell me a little bit about you & your business.
My career has been in International shipping/Supply Chain Management for 25 years. I started Aegis Foundation in 2008 when the economy was just starting to tank and funding was being cut for youth organizations. I thought how can I help?
The Official Oscar Experience Grammy Celebration
Annual High Heel Dash (coming up August.14th).
Aegis is an ALL volunteer board that gives back 100% of funds raised to other local youth orgs in need.
A little over a year ago me and a friend came up with an idea to develop a luxury womens shoe line that is made in America! MAX MARTIN was born.
We are so excited to finally have launched the Kickstarter project and we only need $20,000 but we only have 30 days! (18 days as of the date of this post) Please click on the link and help us: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/558384245/step-into-real-american-luxury-with-max-martin
My partner MC Lyte, is a pioneer in Hip-Hop. In the 80’s, she was the first solo female rap artist, since then she has been a mega-powerhouse behind the scenes! She is currently the President of the Grammys (LA Chapter) and now Executive Producer of a new reality show that will air on BET called HIP-HOP Sisters, named after her non-profit that empowers women!

3.) How long have you been an entrepreneur?
As long as I can remember, I have always been involved with start-up businesses whether it was mine or helping another. Even as a child I remember being creative about how I can earn money.
4.) How’d you get started, what were the first few years like?
I have only been working on Max Martin for about 13 months. It has been both exciting as we create this new line but also a daunting task to find a high quality, luxury manufacturer of womens shoes in the U.S. But we did it!
5.) What’s your favorite part of running your business?
Since I’m a Type-A kind of person, I love that I have the control, the last word. Especially since I only expect the best, I only want to produce the best for others, a perfectionist if you will.
6.) How did you get connected to Launchwise? What is your favorite part about being connected to Launchwise?
I first got connected to Launchwise thru a long time friend, Sam Ingram, then I met the amazing Daisy Nguyen!
7.) Who have you met at one of our events that you’re looking forward to stay connected with?
HMM.. that’s a good question I have meet so many people and have stayed in contact with. I think Launchwise is a fantastic avenue for meeting amazing people in the Cities.
8.) You make it look so easy. What business advice do you have for other entrepreneurs? (Maybe specific to running a new business or growing a business, etc.)
So much advise! lol but I’ll keep it short and simple. Focus and Persistence! you have to stay on track with your business plan and be persistent with every and anyone who is helping you. Don’t loose sight or give up when it gets tough!
9.) Who are your favorite designers?
Well that depends… in general or local? I have always been the biggest fan of Tom Ford then and now. Locally I love what Christopher Straub and Emma Berg, they are BRILLIANT!
10.) Who is your entrepreneurial idol?
A man named Peter Rose, he is an amazing entrepreneur who gave me my first start back in 1988. He is the (still) the CEO of Expeditors International where I started my successful and thrilling career in International Shipping.
11.) Do you have a favorite quote?
YES! – “Do what you can, with what you have, where you are” – Teddy Roosevelt
12.) What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever had to do for your business?
AHAHA the weirdest thing I had to do for business…hmmm, this might be a little too much but I’ll share. Before I moved to Hong Kong I had to visit all of our agents in the Far East. Each agent wanted to try and “out do” the others to show me a great time in their country. One night, I won’t say where exactly, after our dinner meeting a women came into our private dining area with room keys and a women for each of us. My chin dropped. long story short I went up to the room and turned on the television. To my surprise the Academy Awards Red Carpet arrivals were just starting….I said “umm, no hot & cold, just a back massage please, so I can watch this.” yes, she was confused….LOL Ill leave it at that.
